This pregnancy week calculator provides general estimates based on standard dating (Naegele's rule) and is for information only. It is not a substitute for medical advice. An early dating ultrasound at DFMC gives the most accurate due date.

    Your Trimester Guide

What to expect and when, across the three trimesters of pregnancy.

    First Trimester (Weeks 1-13)

Your baby's major organs, brain and spine begin to form. You may feel tired or nauseous as hormones rise.

    • Start folic acid and prenatal vitamins.
    • Book your first scan and dating ultrasound.
    • Stay hydrated and rest when you need to.

    Second Trimester (Weeks 14-27)

Often the most comfortable phase. Energy returns and you'll feel the first baby movements.

    • Anomaly scan is usually done around week 20.
    • Begin gentle exercise like walking or prenatal yoga.
    • Eat iron- and calcium-rich foods.

    Third Trimester (Weeks 28-40)

Your baby gains weight rapidly and gets into position for birth. Time to prepare for delivery.

    • Attend regular growth and wellbeing checkups.
    • Watch for signs of labour after week 37.
    • Pack your hospital bag and finalise your birth plan.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), not from conception. This calculator counts the days from your LMP to today and converts them into completed weeks and days. If you conceived through IVF, we count from your embryo transfer date instead.
The estimated due date is 40 weeks (280 days) from your last period. If your cycle isn't 28 days, we adjust for that. For IVF, a Day 5 (blastocyst) transfer is dated at 261 days from transfer and a Day 3 transfer at 263 days.
Only about 1 in 20 babies are born on their exact due date. Most arrive within two weeks before or after. Your due date is a helpful guide for scans and checkups rather than a fixed appointment.
Yes. IVF dating is actually more precise because the exact fertilisation and transfer dates are known. Select "IVF Embryo Transfer", enter your transfer date and whether it was a Day 3 or Day 5 embryo for an accurate result.
